A strange, yet captivating book that I had to continue reading just to see how it ended. I've never read a book quite like this one. The idea of characters living only because the host perceives them in his imagination is intriguing.
The book seemed to randomly jump from character to character, yet there was always a link between the character and what was happening to Christopher, a prisoner of war being tortured far away in a hot desert country. Some of the story is slightly confusing, taking into account that alternate realities are in play, yet they seem to have no bearing on the story (such as Tony, the neighbor being in prison for the main character's murder as a child. There is no explanation as to why the main character, Christopher, would imagine his neighbor brutally murdering him. It just didn't make sense.).
There are quite a few grammatical errors; usually words left out, that make the book feel a bit on the elementary level, but I still felt as though I had to keep reading, so I give Neil credit for that.

involving story, different from most thrillers i have read lately-i liked it a lot
Plot within a plot within a plot. This lost steam, even though the premise was good. Disappointing body and conclusion.
I was so confused for about half of this wonderful story! I will be looking for more tales by this author. Great job!
This is THE most imaginative book I have ever read a world within a world, within a world, etc. It certainly gives a new perspective on imagination. Good read.
What if your life was only someone else's imagination? What would you do, think, say. I wasn't sure I would like this book but once I started reading I couldn't stop reading. I recommend this book to those of us that like to think what if and outside the box,
Imagination presents an interesting, if not unique, theory of the nature of reality, which is why I read it. This is the type of story that would have made a good Twilight Zone episode. Ostroff extends that story as he explores in more detail the personalities of his characters. He does that nicely, making them distinct and interesting. I read this book in two days, and I have no real complaints, but compared to other explorations of its kind it was a bit light.
The story is very repetitious, it makes you want to skip the parts you have already read describing the experiences of other characters. Worse than this is the gross abundance of grammatical errors which slam you out of the plot. Mr. Ostrich needs to fire his editor if he has one, or needs to go back to grammar school and re-learn English. Even if a book is free, it should have a decent standard of literacy. I will not be reading another book by this gentleman any time soon.
